The Glossary of Humanistic Buddhism: 2025 Edition contains over 10,000 terms in both Chinese and English covering works from Venerable Master Hsing Yun, Humanistic Buddhism, sutra titles, all publications from Fo Guang Shan’s cultural undertakings, Fo Guang Shan and BLIA. It goes in depth into Buddhist terminology, concepts, quotes, persons, places, expressions, and historical events. We offer this glossary to the Fo Gang Shan community, translators, and sentient beings from all walks of life to assist them in their understanding and rendition of Buddhist literature.

妙光法師 Ven. Miao Guang

Venerable Miao Guang is the Personal English Interpreter of Venerable Master Hsing Yun. She also serves as the English Secretary at Fo Guang Shan Founding Master’s Office. She graduated with a Bachelor degree from the Department of Asian Studies, University of New South Wales and went on to complete her Master in Buddhist Studies at Fo Guang University.

She is currently serving at Fo Guang Shan Institute of Humanistic Buddhism as both a Deputy Chancellor and Director of the Department of International Affairs. She is also the Director of the Fo Guang Dictionary of Buddhism English Translation Project and also the Complete Works of Venerable Master Hsing Yun Translation Project; Honorary Fellow of Humanistic Buddhism, Nan Tien Institute; Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Religious Studies, Nanhua University, and Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Buddhist Studies, Guang Ming College.

11歲時，舉家移民澳洲。高中時有因緣接觸南天寺，並擔任義工，協助翻譯佛學的文章，逢禪修、佛學講座協助口譯，透此一步一步的磨練，逐漸累積許多經驗。二○○○年依止星雲大師出家，是年於佛光山寺受具足戒。師精通中文、日語、英語、粵語、客家話。大師於世界弘法，隨侍英文翻譯，足跡遍及全球三十餘個國家地區，曾在大師與教宗本篤十六世、馬來西亞兩任總理馬哈迪、納吉等世界宗教及國家領袖等人見面時擔任翻譯。大師於日內瓦聯合國會議中心、紐約洛克斐勒中心、台北小巨蛋等國際大小講演場合，擔任英文口譯。口譯之流暢與優美，數次於國際場合中受到中華民國總統馬英九讚歎，表示佛光山比丘尼水準特別高。

師於隨侍英譯之外，亦曾前往歐洲日內瓦、巴黎、倫敦、維也納，澳洲雪梨、布里斯本、墨爾本，美國、新加坡、菲律賓等地演講。
